Rolled Threads Unlimited continues to invest in the newest technology for the thread rolling business, as evidenced by our recent purchase of a high-performance vacuum parts washer: the iFB KP.HMA 100. A parts washer is designed to remove any form of debris, machine oil or contaminating substance from parts, in preparation for their end-use operations.
Newly-produced parts are often coated in various forms of residue left over from the manufacturing process. Chemicals, cutting fluids and lubricants can be destructive substances. Rolled Threads is pleased to offer parts cleaning as an add-on option at customer request.
The new parts washer at Rolled Threads Unlimited is currently operational, meeting our high productivity demands of washing up to 220 pounds of parts per cycle, which is about 800 pounds each hour. The machine is self-contained, using solvent to clean parts in a vacuum chamber via oscillating baskets. After the solvent is drained, another created vacuum pulls out the residue, so no air pockets or fluids remain to hold in particulates. The process can run multiple times, depending on application and desired cleanliness level, and finally, the parts are heat dried. A separate tank on the system can add a thin layer of nearly invisible rust preventive solution if required.
The used cleaning solvent is recycled and reused within the machine with no need to change it out, making the parts washer highly efficient and environmentally friendly. Such minuscule solvent consumption is made possible by the combination of superior solvent distillation, filtration, and oil separation designs. Additionally, potential involved labor is minimized, and possible waste disposal and handling costs are greatly reduced.
The washer is located in our new 5,000 square foot manufacturing space. This area will have a dedicated cell for thread rolling, cleaning, drying, and packaging customer orders in one seamless process.
